Recently a client sent me a PDF to translate into English.
When I exported the text to Word, the formatting turned into a bit of a jigsaw puzzle of boxes, misaligned text and weird fonts.
So I asked what program the file was originally created in. Turns out, it was PowerPoint!
Once they sent me the original file, everything made sense again… Clean layout and consistent text.
Letting your translator know what software you used to create the file you want translated can save time and preserve your formatting beautifully.
I work with a wide range of file types: Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel, InDesign and other file friends! It’s always best to share the editable version when possible.
✅ It keeps your layout intact
✅ It reduces time spent reformatting
✅ Helps ensure your translated document looks just as professional as your original
Editable file formats matter more than you might think! Your translator (and your designer!) will thank you.
